FAQs

How do I choose my pup?

Once you make a deposit, we will send periodic updates on the liter's progress. We will provide markings so that you can begin to see the differences in each pup. Choice is based on a first come basis and your spot is secured with a deposit. Once it is time to pick-up the pups, you will be able to choose your pup based upon your reservation spot.

Can I request training for my pup?

Yes, you can. Once you make a deposit, we will contact you to see if you want your pup to be exposed to sheep or trained to electric fence. If so, there will be an additional fee that we will request. Electric fence training is $150 and exposure to sheep is $100. Any requests for training will add two weeks to when you can pick up the pup.

Can I visit the pups before my pick-up time?

We do not allow visitors on the farm before the pups are weaned and given their initial vaccine for parvovirus. The risk isn't worth an early visit. However, if you request training, we will happily schedule visits for you to see your puppy. We do advise minimal contact with the dogs when we are exposing them to sheep. It is important for the little ones to bond and adapt to the sheep.

What medication do you provide to the pups?

All pups are given a couple rounds of dewormers and their first vaccines before they are sent to their new homes. Although we manage our dogs and livestock with natural methods for deworming, we do believe it is important to help pups at the beginning of their development to make sure they are given the best chance for health. Further, it is a requirement with many dog breeding associations, so we follow what is the general accepted practice.
